Each member receives the FICC Compliance Manual and Operations Manual, which contain detailed outlines, supported by legal citations, of various laws and regulations governing financial institutions.
Each member receives the FICC News, a periodic update of matters that are of concern to members that they do not receive from other sources in the depth provided for in the News. The News addresses day-to-day legal issues faced by financial institutions, with special emphasis on issues specific to operations within Michigan.
Publications and more are available on our members-only Web site. Current editions of the Compliance Manual and Operations Manual, as well as current and back issues of the News, are available 24 hours per day in full-text searchable format. Members can print individual copies of FICC publications from the Web site at any time. The site also contains links to other Web sites useful to financial institutions.
The FICC offers seminars tailored to the needs of financial institutions. Our seminars provide timely and in-depth analyses of topics such as the USA Patriot Act, privacy, bank secrecy, deposit issues, and employment laws affecting financial institutions.
Member institutions may retain services of Bodman attorneys at all of our offices at a substantial discount compared to our standard rates. Discounts are available for all of Bodman’s legal services, including regulatory matters, compliance, litigation, insurance and securities, organizational matters including bank holding company, financial holding company, and financial subsidiary formation, mergers, acquisitions, and de novo charters. The discount alone may recover the institution’s investment in FICC membership within a short period.
